Grade 80 Chain (GRADE 80 ALLOY STEEL CHAIN)
Grade 80 Chain is heat treated alloy steel chain. This chain is primarily used as a sling component for overhead lifting, but can also be used in rigging and tie-down applications where a lighter weight, higher strength chain is desirable. The chain link is marked every 3 feet with TKC and G80 in order to identify manufacturer and grade. The chain is heat treated with Quenching and Tempering method. Regarding to its use and application, Carburizing can be used to increase the surface hardness of the chain after Quenching and Tempering . Grade 80 chain is tested proof load, bending deflection with Open Crosshead Computer Servo Hydraulic Universal Testing Machine and tested hardness with Digital Rockwell Type Hardness Tester. Lastly, chain is calibrated to the dimensional requirements for properly size. Grade 80 chain is manufactured to meet American Standard Of Testing Material ASTM A391- A391M specification.
